We booked cave tubing and xunantunich combo tour with this company for date May19th. I was communicating with Davis Bustamante who is the manager of this company ( Mean and Dangerous Adventures ). I confirmed my groups of 8 when David called me. We were excited. A few days after I received an email from some one who names Israel concerning our excursion. He mentioned that he is our private tour guide and he will pick us up at 9:00am at our hotel in San Ignacio. We confirmed 8:00 am pick up with David. We mentioned to him that were scheduled for an 8:00am pick up. He replied stating that their are some minor changes to the day's activities. I didn't dispute it with him, so we prepared for the 9:00am pick up.
Israel was at our hotel from around 8:30 am. We asked him to start our tour since he was early. We boarded the van and left to the ruins. When we got to the Hand Cranked ferry, I realized that he was not wearing the company uniform with the logo. I was concerned about that because their website states that other tour companies pretend to be them. I was not comfortable with this, but kept quiet about it. We did the tour of the ruins and I was not satisfied because the English was poor. After the ruins we drove about an hour to the cave tubing site. We had a short restroom break, and during that break I saw a guy with a T- shirt with the company logo. I approached him and asked if Israel was employed with the company. The answer was NO! I informed the rest of the group of it and we decided to cancel the rest of the tour with Israel because he was not a part of the "Mean and Dangerous Adventures" team.
That Guy I spoke to was David. The manager I was communicating with before Israel came into the picture. David apologize because he had no idea how Israel got our information. George was assigned to us as our cave tubing tour guide. George was nice to us and was informative. We were served with freshly cooked rice and beans with chicken. Whilst having lunch we were informed by our tour guide that from time to time the company's emails, whatsapp accounts, and phone calls are being hacked by other tour companies. THIS WAS SAD TO LEARN!
The last part of our tour was fantastic. George, our new tour guide drove is back to Midas hotel in San Ignacio where we were staying.
DON'T GO WITH ISRAEL.
LOOK FOR THE COMPANY LOGO ON THE T-SHIRT THAT READS " MEAN AND DANGEROUS ADVENTURES"
ISRAEL IS A HACKER!
WHEN CONTACTING THEM ASK FOR MR. REVERS OR DAVID BUSTAMANTE
I recommend Mean and Dangerous Adventures
